Held annually from July to August at Daecheon Beach in Boryeong City, Chungcheongnam-do Province, this festival is recognized as the world’s largest summer festival where people of all nationalities, languages, and ages come together as one to enjoy this hands-on experience. In 2025, the 28th Boryeong Mud Festival will be grandly held for 17 days from Friday, July 25th to Sunday, August 10th.

What Makes the Boryeong Mud Festival the Top Mud Festival in Korea?

The Boryeong Mud Festival isn’t just a passive viewing experience. It’s a completely participatory festival where visitors directly apply mud all over their bodies and engage in various hands-on activities.

Popular not only among Koreans but also international visitors, the Boryeong Mud Festival is famous as an experiential festival that everyone can enjoy together regardless of nationality, race, or age.

The Special Nature of Boryeong Mud

Boryeong’s mud isn’t just ordinary dirt. Located in the southwestern coastal region of Chungnam Province, the coastline features high-quality fine mud that contains various beneficial components including minerals and germanium, known to be excellent for skin care. This means you can naturally take care of your skin while enjoying the festival!
